The trek away from the bustle of the city, starts with walking from Dhunche, the district head-quarter of Rasuwa, following the Trishuli River through the lush foothills, only after a few hours drive north from Kathmandu. The trek passing through the scenic beauty of Banana plantation, and the village of thatched cottages bountiful crops and greens forests, journeys up wards leaving the river way below.

Again to the serene calm of Shing Gompa and then further up to the three sacred lakes of Gosain Kunda, a strenuous but rewarding days hike carries you over the Gosain Kunda pass to the Helambu valley which brings you back almost to the outskirts of Kathmandu.
