Kanchenjunga Base Camp Mirgin La Pass Trek

Kanchenjunga, the world’s third highest mountain, lies on Nepal’s eastern border with Sikkim. It is a beautiful, unspoilt wilderness area which boasts some of the most impressive mountain scenery on Earth. The name Kanchenjunga means ‘five great treasure houses of snow’ in Tibetan which indicates the visual riches of this area.

This outstanding trek begins and ends at the small airstrip at Suketar-Taplejung, in the remote north east corner of Nepal. It takes you through fascinating Rai and Limbu villages and pristine forests to the awe-inspiring South Face Base Camp at Ramche, before crossing the Mirgin La (pass) to the north side of Kanchenjunga and the Pang Pama Base Camp.

The magnificent mountain views of Kanchenjunga and surrounding mountains, traditional villages, cascading mountain rivers and scarcity of other trekkers combine to make this trek a glorious and unforgettable experience.

Price For The Trip: The total cost for the trek or tour you decide you want to do will depend on several different factors. The type of accommodation you prefer in Kathmandu will make a difference to the overall cost (budget to 5 star accommodations). The mode of transport you prefer will also affect the cost of your package, for example prices vary greatly between flying versus private car/van, tourist or local buses. The camping trek and teahouse trek made a difference in the cost. The number of guides and porters required will also affect the total cost of your trek. For these reasons, the same trek/tour can vary in price quite substantially.
